The PD-12 Series is a suction type gas detector head with built-in display, designed for fixed installation where remote or ducted sampling is required. It offers hydrogen explosion proof performance, making it suitable for demanding industrial safety applications across petrochemical plants, steel industry, semiconductor fabrication, civil engineering and construction, electrical equipment manufacturing, environmental monitoring, agriculture and livestock facilities, boiler and furnace detection, transportation, and government/research institutions.
Unlike diffusion type detectors, the PD-12 series actively draws in sample gas via suction, making it well suited for monitoring locations that are difficult to reach or require sampling from a distance. The unit is explosion proof and water/dust proof to IP65 standards, with an easy sensor replacement design to reduce maintenance downtime.
Three models are available:
- PD-12A: Combustible gas, toxic gas, etc. (hot wire semiconductor sensor, ppm)
- PD-12B: Combustible gas (combustion sensor, %LEL)
- PD-12C: Combustible gas (thermal conductivity sensor, vol%)
The detector operates on 24 VDC power supply (18 to 30 VDC), with 7.5 W max power consumption and a flow rate of over 0.5 L/min. It provides a 4–20 mADC analog output signal (common to negative side of power supply) along with a 1a no-voltage contact output (automatic return).
Certified under CE marking, UKCA marking, ATEX, IECEx, UKEx, India Ex (PESO), Taiwan Ex (ITRI), and Japan Ex (JPEx), the PD-12 series meets hazardous-area compliance requirements across multiple regulatory regions. Note: some models are not ATEX approved — please confirm certification per model before specifying.
The PD-12 series is available in three models — PD-12A, PD-12B, and PD-12C — each using a different sensor technology.
The PD-12A detects combustible gas and toxic gas using a hot wire semiconductor sensor, with readings shown in ppm, and a repeatability of within ±20% of full scale.
The PD-12B detects combustible gas using a combustion-type sensor, with readings shown in %LEL, and a repeatability of within ±5% of full scale.
The PD-12C detects combustible gas using a thermal conductivity sensor, with readings shown in vol%, and a repeatability of within ±5% of full scale.
All three models run on a 24 VDC power supply (accepting a range of 18 to 30 VDC) and consume up to 7.5 W of power. The flow rate is over 0.5 litres per minute.
For output, all models provide a 4–20 mADC analog signal, referenced to the negative side of the power supply, along with a 1a no-voltage contact output that resets automatically.
In terms of certification, all models are rated II 2 G Ex db IIC T4 Gb under ATEX and Ex d IIC T4 under Japan Ex, though some models are not ATEX approved — please contact us to confirm before ordering.
All models carry an IP65 rating, meaning they are protected against dust and water jets. They operate in temperatures from -10°C to +50°C, and in humidity from 10% to 90% RH (within a 0°C to 50°C range), without rapid temperature or humidity changes or condensation.
Each unit weighs approximately 5.2 kg.
